Work in Progress Competition

WIP Sign

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. I’ve been incredibly busy lately with book reviews, that it seems I’ve neglected to mention anything to do with my own writing. Of course, whether it be a sentence, or a few thousand words, I’ve been getting on with my latest work in progress (WIP for those of you that are unfamiliar with acronyms). I’ve been really secretive about this one, mainly because I wasn’t sure where it was going to take me. It actually started off as one thing, but has now evolved into something completely different.

But the one aspect that has stuck is Abbey, who is the lead character. And I’m afraid that is all I’m going to reveal … for now! Apart from of course telling you it is a dark new adult (NA) novel. Think young adult (YA) but with darker themes. I’ve been trying to reach 150 likes on my Facebook page, bribing people with releasing the title when I hit the target. Do you think you can help? Do you want to know who Abbey is, and why her life is in danger? I need those 150 likes to tell all – I’m currently on 139!

I also wanted to get my readers involved, and so I thought, why not let one winner name one of the characters in the book. There aren’t too many actually, and I think that is why this book has been quite difficult at times.

COMPETITION TIME: By leaving a comment to this post, tell me your name, email address and your choice of name for a male character, and all of the best ones will be submitted to a vote. The person whose name wins the vote will not only have their choice of name in the book, but will also win a signed copy of the book when it is released in 2014. Now there’s something you wouldn’t want to miss!

So what are you waiting for? Get those likes on my Facebook page (pretty please) and get those name suggestions going. You can be as grand or inventive as you like! No restrictions.

  1. Without a setting or knowledge of the age of the character, I would be afraid to offer a favorite male name. When you’ve “revealed all,” I’ll happy toss out some names. 🙂

    1. Good point 🙂 I will be revealing all soon. I hope you come back and give a suggestion.
