I only came across Authorgraph a few month ago – but let me tell you, for any ebook author, it is a fantastic tool to personally connect with your fans. Have you ever thought about how exciting it is to get an autograph from your favourite writers?

You may remember that last year i went to a Deborah Harkness talk about her fantasy novels, A Discovery of Witches Shadow of Night. After the talk, i stood in line patiently waiting for her to sign my hardback editions. It was an exhilarating experience and when i pull those books from my bookcase now and read the inscriptions inside, the memory of the night makes me smile.

But what about those people that bought the ebook edition? Do they miss out? In most cases, i’m afraid they do. It seems that the ebook revolution does have a downside. But when one talented man came up with an idea to offer digital autographs to readers, it seems he has corned the market; and trust me, i think it will take off.

The website is free to join, which is always a bonus, and it works really simply. Your ebook has to be on Amazon, but by simply pasting the URL of your book into the search engine, you can create a button for your readers to click on and request an autograph, or should that be an authorgraph. Your personalised scribbling will be sent to their ereader alongside the front cover of the book they’ve requested the authorgraph for, to be treasured forever!

I’ve already had a few requests for autographs and it gives me great pleasure to be able to connect with some of my readers, and for every title i release, i certainly plan on offering an authorgraph to every one.

The URL is: and below you can see the button to request an authorgraph for my poetry book Life is all but a vast array of Colours.
